If you recived 3 wishes from a deck of many things what would you wish for in your game (gesault rules). Three minutes to tell 3 wishes all at the same time for a game tomorrow 2/20/2007.

Generally humble things directly related to the character concept. Lost a family to an orcish invasion? "I wish my family was alive and well." Had a comrade fall to Lord Foulheart? "I wish Bill was still with us." Local town having financial woes? "I wish Glendale could pay its taxes."

A Candle of Invocation.

Don't need anything else once you have one of those.

Or a staff of augury, so I could weal/woe my way through the deck. By proxy, of course.

I am being a little munchkiny, but only because the alternative is roleplayingey stuff, and as I know nothing of your campaign setting, or the character, I can't help with that.

Go with the KISS method, especially since you only have three minutes. You probably won't have time to fix a wish that backfires on you.

Depends a lot on your character, obviously. A wizard isn't going to wish for armor. If you do wish for items, be sure to request that they're sized properly. Because a Colossal greatsword won't help your human fighter all that much. Also, wish that an item was created for you, rather than just that you have it. 'cause, really, if a guy *has* a +3 Vorpal Longsword, he probably has the power and motivation to get it back.

Don't try to just bring the dead back to life. It just does not work well. Wish for them to get a Raise Dead instead - now its working with an actual spell, and its harder to get screwy Monkey's Paw effects.

On the other hand, if you want to see how interesting things can get, deliberately ignore those guidelines. ;)

A lot of this depends on what the DM is like. If I think he's the type to warp the hell out of them, I'll likely keep each wish very simple. Thats if I use them at all.

Wishing for extra wishes is probably a bad idea no matter the circumstances. :D

The question is, the the person drawing the card gain the ability to cast wish (for free) three times, or gain the right to request that the artifact cast wish three times. Because if it's the former, there's no need to worry about monkey's paw syndrome so long as you stick within the safe boundaries of the spell.

If it's the latter, then you need to ask, is this artifact likely to attempt to deliberately screw me over? Is it likely to misinterpret my request from a language or culture barrier? Is it only endowed with a computer-like intellegence?

Asking for wishes from djinn is asking for trouble, because it isn't you casting the spell, and they can twist things for fun, and will try to do so. Wishing for things yourself, using your own power is always safe, unless you get too greedy. Utilizing an artifact? I'm not really sure. It definitely depends on your DM.

You're getting off easy. Every time I've ever had a player draw that card, I time them as soon as the d4 is rolled.
Another player is picked to write down the wish's exact words.
