You know your totally destroying my rep as the resident digital modeler of Enworld. I do not approve of this.

Seriously, nice work. I'd add some detail to the inside of the dragons mouth.

Hmm... perhaps a small "Probably-NSFW" for the Reel, due to the elf.. ;)

But the reel looks fantastic, and... I dig the song - that's not only good modelling, it's also a nice composition in the reel... :)

Yeah, who sings that? That's pretty good music.
That is Candice Night singing with the group Blackmore's Night (a pun on the fact that the main persons in the group are Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore). The song is "Fires at Midnight" and I think it is the recording from the CD "Fires at Midnight".

More information and some music can be found at their website. There is music playing on the front page, so take care at work.

The CDs are available from well stocked net-shops and I recommend them all :).

Do you have expierence with programs besides Maya? I'm debating which platform I should upgrade to.

I worked with max along time ago, I have been meaning to look at Modo and Softimage | xsi. I hear light wave has good rendering package out of the box. Right now Maya is owned by the same people that bought out 3d studio max. I think they also own cad 3d or something similar.

Maya is not good for one reason. It’s made to be upgraded by big studios. Thus When you buy it, it is missing a lot tools that they almost expect you to program yourself. Most of Mayas work goes into the scripting power and not the actual interface, that’s my biggest beef with maya. Out of the box it’s clunky but if you know the language its very amazing, and that’s why the big studios like it, because they get their own proprietary 3d program without building it from scratch.

I like maya though, its what I learned at school, but if I were to change and go to something else, I would go to Softimage.

again, thanks for your comments. Im alittle bummed though, i posted on cg talk and havent gotten any posts. Even though I love my reel, im really second guessing myself becuse no one is posting on cg talk, but all the threads around me are getting so many hits. I checked my web stats and it seems that the problem is people are clicking the link to the thread but not clicking on the link to the reel, thus if they dont watch it, they dont have anything to comment about. I feel like I have some sort of anti post aura. Thanks for your support guys, it means alot.

in case anyone knows cg talk is the like top gun for digital artests.
