"3r" is not only more accurate, it's easier to type than "3.5"

In case anyone can't tell, I hate the name "3.5e" with a fiery passion, a hatred that borders on undead revenance should I die before it is released.

However, as more people use it, I find myself slipping up and using it, as well.

I've used 3E Revised, mostly because people look at me funny when I call it "3er."

Apart from my fiery passions (of which I have plenty, some better disguised than others), I too disagree with WOTC's choice to call the Revised Edition "3.5." So far I haven't seen anything I feel warrants more than, say, a "3.1" moniker. Were we looking at something on the order of the 2E "Options" line, I'd think "3.5" was more appropriate. I'm currently preferring "3ER"; after all, D&D is *not* software.

YMMV (tosses 2¢ in the change till).

3.5 looks like a program that was applied a patch ...

Like "Warcraft III, version 3.521".

Anyway this was to be a revision of 3rd ed, not a new system so 3.5 looks a pretty stupid choise since down the line other revisions (like the metamagic system) are bound to happen.

I play D&D 3rd ed., I might use the revised rules but I will never be playing D&D 3.5 ...

On a funny note, everyone that plays mutiplayer knows that a session that uses a certain version requires that all users use that same version, so 3.5 is never compatible with 3.0 ...

But I'll wager it would feature in fewer poems if it were called a 'mxlfrunt'.

Yes, but anyone who is trying to use the acronym for a role-playing game in poetry deserves what he gets, 'cause he obviously is a vogon :)

I'm with ya on this one. 3eR it is for me. Not only is applying software terminology to game silly, but they didn't even do it right anyway. If anything, it should be 3.1...

AGGGGGGGGH!!! Do any of you people actually have conversations that, you know, aren't on a computer? How on earth do you SAY "3eR?" 3.5 all the way, baby!!

"Three-eee-are"

... is a buddy of "Three-Pee-Oh" and "Ahr-too-dee-too". :)

But being a friend fo a movie star doesn't render it notably easier to speak than "Three-point-five-eee".
