Is D&D that valuable of a brand? Or is the real question, "Is D&D that worthless of a brand that it doesn't pay to make a really good movie with talented people and a decent budget?"

Ok, EVERYTHING I've read ,researched, and metacrawled for about D&D 2 has told me that Courtney Solomon didn't and won't have anything to do with the film.
Well, I don't take the words on the internet as sacred, but if this is the case, then I'm glad that Courtney is not taking a hands-on approach (direct and indirect) to the sequel's production. Now if only he relinquish the film right, then I'll be a happy clam.

The same goes to Brannon Braga, who stepped back from Star Trek: Enterprise this season but Paramount have yet to reassign him (or better yet, terminate his contract) to the other side of their studio lot. Far, far away.

Wait, if he didn't want anything to do with it, who is running the show, a lich?

(I am serious on that question)

The man spearheading the films is Joel Silver. His company is the major force behind the films, including the first one. As far as I know he's the Executive Producer.

Cheers!

This may sound oxymoron, but do we really need bullet-time archery effect?

:p

The question we should be asking ourselves is, "Could anything actually be *worse* than the first film?"
Arguably, the Street Fighter movie was worse than the D&D movie. And since I'm also a big fan of Street Fighter, that was a big blow.
