The Dancing Griffon
The bartender gives Faust his grink with a smile. He's a retund man that fills the uniform with both muscle and fat. He looks to have once been in formable shape, now soft from years of lack of use. Since the dwarf did not ask him fr his name, or offer his, the bartender just spouts off the first thing that cames to mind.
"Well, I've seen zombies, goblins, orcs , not together mind, skeletons, giant rats and other virmin... oh, and a dragon. I've heard that there be a dragon down there, though I don't know how much faith you can place in that." The bartender, warming to the subject, if not the dwarf, leans on the bar and cleans an already clean glass with a clean cloth. "Yup, there be al variety of things down there. It's surprising that they work together the way they do. Must be something pretty powerfull down there to hold them from eachothers throtes. 'Course, that's just my theary."

Faust
Walking accross the street to the town hall, Faust sees two dwarves talking over at the smithy, with yet another dwarf heading towards the inn.
[I must oppologise for the previous post where I called Faust a dwarf... I'll edit the post! Sorry!]
Once he makes it up the stairs of the Town Hall, through the double doors and past the amny doors and halls, he sees yet ANOTHER dwarf at the desk of what must be the secretary. She sees the sorceror, and pulls out a sheet of paper for him to sign, and asks if he needed her to read it to him. [See the above description of the note]

Dagart grunts his condolences to the smith for the loss of his leg. "I'd love t' hear more about these caverns, but I'm dead thirsty from the road." He nods in the direction of the Silver Griffon. "Find me there when ye're finished around here and I'll buy ye a drink. Good luck, and may yer forge burn true."
Dagart then heads towards the Silver Griffon, takes a seat at the bar, and asks for an ale - something dwarven, if they've got it.
OOC: Ooops, Dancing Griffon, Silver Griffon, whatever. My Common isn't as good as it should be

Tiptoe nods obidiently as the woman informs him of the cavern's rules and restrictions, smiling a bit akwardly at the times that seem appropriate.
Thank goodness she speaks enough for the both of us...
He attempts to follow the woman's words as best as he can, repeating some of the lines to himself as she speaks to allow them to sink into his mind. The Dancing Griffon... he's seen the place, but has never had the courage to venture in. But she suggested it... it's almost like an invitation. Grinning to himself: this was such a good idea! He's already becoming accepted.
Scratching his hair a bit, he reaches for the paper, taking it slowly and carefully from her hands.
"I can read, but not fast-like."
He recognizes a few words immidiately, but pauses as he notices some of the more difficult words later on the page. Moving away from the desk, not turning from her, he thanks the lady once, then twice, distancing himself somewhat so she won't hear him sounding out the words. After a few minutes of slow reading, he rereads the paper to make sure he can fully understand it: nothing seems to be problematic, so he searches his person for something to write with, realizing it's never really been a problem.
He takes a few minutes to read over the paper once more, slowly memorizing the shapes of the characters that comprise the sounds of his name.
Returning to the desk, he asks the lady for a quill or inkpen for "just a moment, just one," keeping his head low to his chest.
Note to Mith: Still waiting on your decision as to how defend would make the rats respond to enemies not directly threatening my character but threatening companions.

Dagart grunts softly, trying not to spill his mouthful of ale. After swallowing, he turns to the newcomer. "It's tolerable. A bit too much fermentation, and the color's a bit off, too. Might be a case of..." The dwarf trails off as he takes another sip and looks thoughtful for a moment, then continues. "...probably got some brewcreep fungus in the batch. Need to keep things clean, ye do, or the whole batch'll be ruined. But what can ye expect when ye're drinkin too-tall brew?"
"Barkeep! Another round for my new friend here. Make sure ye put a decent head on it this time, too."

"Bahh, I be havin river water with more of a kick than this. I guess it'll do fer now. You don't look like your from round these parts. You be here fer them caverns?"
Takes another long swig from his tankard.
