D&D 4E 4E Character Sheet Generator (Excel)

First Post
I had this posted in the 4E rules forum, but since this is where fan created stuff goes, I am reposting here.

This is inspired by Kenad's most excellent Star Wars Saga character generator found here.

I took the format and some of his ideas, but the code is all mine (mainly because I couldn't figure out how he coded his sheet). Please be advised, I am an amateur when it comes to Excel, so you'll have to forgive me if there are "better" ways to do things.

This isn't 100% complete (it probably never will be) and is still a work-in-progress. But for those that would like a quick and easy way to create characters, this should suffice.

I am sure there are bugs and such, and I will update it as I find time.

So, without further ado...

Reposting this from the other thread, as there are some issues I am aware of, so no need to rehash them here.

-I think the reflex defense formula has some problems. I have a character with 12 Dex and 16 Int (with a light shield, since I can't choose "no shield). The sheet shows my Ref as 12. It looks like it's basing it off of my Dex, rather than my Int. (Incidentally, the AC value is 14 - so that looks like it's working with no problems.

The Reflex Defense issue should be fixed now.

-There doesn't seem to be a "no shield" option

Hmmm, I guess I can put one in. For now, you can simply select that cell and click DELETE. It will delete the selection that is currently in there and should help.

-On the "Abilities and Class" sheet, there is an extra drop-down box with ability scores in it. If I choose an ability score that my race doesn't have a bonus in, then I get a +2 bonus in that ability. However, if I choose an ability score that my race does have a bonus in, then it doesn't affect anything.

This is the same issue w/ the shield. That selection is if you pick Human as your race. If you are not Human, click on that cell and hit DELETE. I am working on a way to make that cleaner for non-humans so people don't get confused.

If anyone finds any other errors or has suggestions or questions, post them.

I'm having an issue where it autosets str to 14 in the final stat even though I have a ten str no bonuses or anything any suggestions?

Hey, this is not too bad, esp if your an "amateur" at Excel as claimed.

One thing i noticed on a quick look over is that cell Feats!D2 is not counting when a feat is taken more than once. Changing cell Feats!F1 to =SUMIF(E6:E201,">0") should solve the problem. (Can't remember if 03 brings up an error with that... don't think if does, in any case there are other ways to solve the problem, this is just the cleanest).

Anyway the real reason I had a look was I'm building my own and wondered if you had managed to get hold of all the powers in an excel sheet. Obviously makes it a lot easier.

Cheers,
Shaun

Hey, I saw your Character generator and tried it out. I like it so much more than all the others, but I noticed that it was incomplete. Are you planning on finishing it, and if not, you mind if I fill in everything and post it back up here? I've already started filling in the feats, and I'm moving on to weapons next.
