Beyond the Classic 4, I would say everything is potentially up for grabs.

Heck, I think True20 took it the right way with just the three classes -- warrior, specialist, magic user. Works good for me -- all the other points are window dressing and could be determined via Feats and Skills.

Hell yes. I was really hoping 4E would follow that lead. But I'm seeing words like "barbarian" and "prestige classes" around, so that probably ain't happening.
