D&D 3E/3.5 4e Conditions versus 3e -- What we know

Some other things which, while not real conditions are still things to track

-3e Marked: Doesn't exist
-4e Marked: -2 to attacks + special effect when not attacking creature X.

-3e Poisoned: Penalty to ability scores, make a 2nd check one minute (10 rounds) later against fixed DC
-4e Poisoned: Constant damage, roll save each round to end.

-3e On fire: Constant damage, roll save each round or spend action to end.
-4e Dazed: Constant damage, roll save each round to end.

Dragon Frightful Presence stuns 1 round and gives a -2 to attacks. Pit Fiend terror gives -5 to defenses.

It does not appear there are fear 'conditions'.

I'm hoping that's the case--actually I'm almost certain it will be, I just hope they take it farther than cutting a few conditions from the old 3e list.

It seems the focus is to make descriptions of things be self-contained. In doing so, there may be very few official conditions but rather have an effect that's included in a description. Maybe this'll lead to some inconsistency, but it'll be much easier to handle in-game...

I'm not so sure that it'll be easier (this was how it worked in pre-3e editions and I didn't find that easier to keep track of), but I think it will make it more fun for me, as it gives any given action more character via effects that are unique rather than pigeon-holed into a pre-conceived system.

I believe, from the demo I played at DDXP, that prone gives a -2 to hit and AC. Basically, the same as 3e, but half the penalty.
I can't guarantee that though, it's just what our DM did.
