An attempt to convert the Hideous Blow from 3.5e Warlock into an equivalent for 4e. I'm attempting to keep it from being overpowered and fitting into the current theme, while being useful. The hard part is that I can't make it an At-Will to be chosen at the first level, due to Pact Restrictions on those.
------
Hideous Blow - Warlock(Infernal) Utility 2
"As your weapon connects with the flesh of your opponent, you ignore your surroundings to focus purely on channeling an Eldritch Blast through your weapon and into the enemy directly."
At-Will ♦ Arcane
Minor Action - Personal
Effect: If Eldritch Blast is available to be used as a Standard Action: Until the start of your next turn, the first time you hit with a Melee Basic Attack, you also hit with your Eldritch Blast and you provoke an Opportunity Attack. Eldritch Blast counts as having been used this encounter when used in this manner.
Special: You only add enhancement bonus to damage on the Eldritch Blast if the weapon that first hits is a Pact Blade. A Rod or Wand, in the hand not holding the weapon, does not add their enhancement bonus.
------
For a class that doesn't have Eldritch Blast as an At-Will, they can only use Hideous Blow once if they haven't used it before. Such as the case of Half-elfs going Fighter, using Dilettante for Eldritch Blast, and MCing into Warlock for Hideous Blow.
The skill has it draw backs, but can have its uses for a Warlock wanting some melee power. Any opinions on what should be changed for balance, if anything at all? Please?
