D&D 4E 4E Haters Lonely?

I don't hate 4th ed.

I'm just content with 3rd ed (which is something I was never able to say about 2nd).

I've invested a lot of time & money into 3rd ed.

4th ed is going to have to really blow my socks off to get me to switch (even then, I probablly won't do so for several months after it comes out).

I don't hate 4th ed, but I'm going to have to do more than just like it a little bit better than 3rd to pull the trigger & commit the time to learn the new system.

Right now, I'm about 50-50 on whether I'll make the switch (90% it won't be til around Christmas 2008)

I'm surprised how civil it (still) is in here. But, um, I agree maybe there shouldn't be a "here" here.

I'm a complete 4th edition fanboy -- I skipped 3.5, so my last paradigm-shifting purchase was when I bought my shiny-new-books in 2000, and I didn't buy (m)any splatbooks, so... I'm relatively uninvested in the current edition. I have the desire and money for the new edition, and very much like everything that's happening, not to mention being generally optimistic about the competence of the writers.

But do you know what makes awesome houserules? Dissatisfaction.

I just wish we had a filter to replace "video game", "WoW", and "anime" with the phrase "game which I wouldn't enjoy". :D
edit: that might get rough in the off-topic forums, though -- "did you see that episode of Avatar last night? Man, I love that game which I wouldn't enjoy!"

this thread should be locked

You know, it's pretty lame to deride a bunch of people for having different opinions than you, then dress it all up in 'humor' and assert that this make it OK.

The people who don't like 4E have every reason to be here. Because this forum is where one goes to describe the _future_ of a game that they really love. And I think that a lot of people on this forum could stand to be a bit more civil and a little less condescending towards them.

What if Radiohead decided to go in a new direction musically with their new album?
I was just about to say this. On the Liz Phair list-serv, there are now certainly quite a few people who don't like her last two albums (a few who don't even like her last three albums), although they'd all describe themselves as fans.

Is true. Maybe the humor tag just shouldn't be allowed in this forum? I haven't noticed it used correctly -- meaning, 'kindly' -- recently.

I can't believe this hasn't been locked yet.

Everybody is assuming everybody else reported it, so it hasn't been reported!

Reminds me of an episode at work a few days ago.

"Where'd you put the image of my old computer?"
"I thought you made it..."
"But... I didn't do it... oh #$!&!"

:D
