[4e] Help with Orcus' Name

This sounds like an oddball request, but I figured if anyone could help me with it, it would be here. :)

I am looking for help in making Orcus' name more Indian -- or accurately more "Vedic." Basically, I am looking at making the 4E Orcus a Lord of Dust in Eberron, but I'm looking at a way to alter his name, yet have it sound familiar enough that when the players hear it the first time, they think, "Wait a minute..... ORCUS?!! Oh, CRAP!!"

Any help in this from anyone who knows an Indian Language or a little Sanskrit? :D

Yama doesn't have the same fear-level response, I don't think.

Neither does Shiva or Kali - too much respect from their real worshippers.

You probably need something more demonic than deific.

"Yama with red eyes, looking fierce and dark like a heap of collyrium, with fierce jaws and frowning fiercely, chosen as their lord by many ugly, fierce-faced hundreds of diseases, possessing an iron rod in his hand and also a noose."

-Scarry.

Plus Yami (his sister) could be said to be the name of the Raven Queen for a good dose of drama.

I have zero experience with Indian/Sanskrit, but I'm betting that your players won't have any either. The trick is to play to what "sounds" Indian to them, via alterations to Orcus's name. Something like...

Vorkis
Orkisha
Yorikish
Orukish
Orugusi
Oriksus

Hope that helps! :)

Indian Cemetery demons with repulsive habits. They feast on all the leftovers from corpses, regarding smelly rotten bits as delicacies. They are not averse to having a go at mourners - who would be well advised to keep both nose and mouth covered, and at all costs to avoid farting.
