[4e] IG's The Witchlight Strand [OOC]

Is there a web page or system where IG can reset some counters and when we have our go we tag them as done and then we can see who we are waiting for. If your skipping then you just flip the counter and don't post. When all counters are flipped into done state then the round ends or IG can do the monsters.

Is this a good idea. Anyone know if it exists ? Do people think its a good enough idea to just code up something on the guild so we can do this ?

I am forever wondering why its stalled.

Typically, we've stalled because you have a lazy DM. I work 12 hours shifts, and do not update my games on the days I work. I try to keep up with things when I'm off, but typically don't update until I am certain I have at least 1 uninterrupted hour... and since I've been moving and unpacking over the past two weeks, that has been incredibly hard to come by.

However, what I'm really waiting for in this particular game is for everyone to decide on what to do with the shaman. Keep him or kill him?

I am off until Sunday morning now. I will do my best to get an update out before then... assuming EN World cooperates with me. Been lagging lately.

Yeah, there's been a few times I tried to log in, and it didn't load for me. Not a lot, but a few.

I know that Vatan would just LOVE to get his hands on a survivor, but I also stated that it really was up to Druthruss (as the man on the spot). He also posted his logic for putting him down (I would have to agree with the logic) so I thought that it was decided on one more rotting corpse. Even though this might very well put us at a disadvantage down the road.

I could very well be wrong in my understanding of the situation.

Hmm yes I thought it was decided too. I am still wondering if we are all thinking that its someone elses move and that throwing your chip in on a web page would help out. It would be nice if this web page could generate a little image and we could link that image into our sig so you get a set of flags in our sig of who is still to go.

Last time I checked tho EnWorld pulled the plug on editing my sig with links so I have left it as is.

I might try this idea out and put the image on my own web page tho so I will get to see it all the time. It would be good to have the players avatar in miniature with a tick above it.

I have been doing a little hacking...

On this page is a game manager and I have set up a game called Witchlights:

and on this page is the update tool

and it produces this image:

which is dynamic if you press some links to say your ready or not ready and there is one more for the GM and it marks everyone as not ready.

I got the avatars from here or at the guild for those of you who have no avatar here cos EnWorld has a knackered avatar bit as far as I can tell.

So do you guys think this would be useful ?

Ok so this bulletin board is buggy and is linking to a page with some extra spaces in the URL which are not here in this edit panel so delete those when it hits the page and keep the url from your browser somewhere - like in book marks then it will be fine.

I tried to add the image to my sig here but alas EnWorld is stuffed there too with no images allowed. So I have it on my guild sig now. I'll add in the new characters when we know the names of them. I am a little confused by who the party consists of at this point but I am sure in a few rounds it will all be made clear. If people can point to an avatar or some pic on the web to use then it will substitute the '?' icon.

So I would click on "Aridha - Ready" so that people knew I wasn't intending to post anything before the next GM update?

That's an interesting gadget you've made, and I can see some potential. I think the ready/not ready language may be a bit misleading though, because when I click ready I get an X, and I was expecting a check indicating all is good. Maybe something more of along the lines of "action needed/taken" instead? I dunno.. just a though.

What is the possibility of getting the links on the image page and loading it up like a widget or something? Or little red and green lights under the avatar. Click the green to indicate your character has acted and is ready to proceed... and maybe it can gray out the avatar as well. Probably a little more intensive than you wanted to get, but hey..

IG - what are your thoughts on essentials classes? Next DDI update should be next week I think and IIRC the essentials stuff should be in there. Could I make one from there?
