What's hard about it (besides the 3.5e rules governing it)?

It's a standard action, therefore you have Move & Minor as well (as long as they're done before the charge). Then again I've played a barbarian now for a few months in LFR so I guess it's second nature to me

CHARGE: STANDARD ACTION

Move and Attack: Move your speed as part of the charge and make a melee basic attack or a bull rush
at the end of your move.

+1 Bonus to the Attack Roll: You gain a +1 bonus to the attack roll of your basic attack or bull rush.

Movement Requirements: You must move at least 2 squares from your starting position, and you must move directly to the nearest square from which you can attack the enemy. You can’t charge if the nearest square is occupied. Moving over difficult terrain costs extra squares of movement as normal.

Provoke Opportunity Attacks: If you leave a square adjacent to an enemy, that enemy can make an opportunity attack against you.

No Further Actions: After you resolve a charge attack, you can’t take any further actions this turn, unless you spend an action point to take an extra action.

The very first phrase is "Move and Attack:" There is no indication in the rule, as written, that the move part is distinct from a move action. Further, it doesn't make much sense logically, since it effectively gives a character a free move action, allowing them to move twice as quickly as normal with little penalty.

I don't object to the interpretation, particularly since it gives us an advantage at this point in time; I'm just mildly surprised by it, especially given the lapse in Wizards' typically rigorous templating.

I guess I read it as the action required to conduct a charge is a standard. The components of that are the ability to move your speed and get an MBA at the end with +1 to hit. Reasoning I would imagine is to make charge a viable option. No class that I'm aware of (besides barbarian) have an at-will that is better on a charge than their basic attack so if my option was to charge just my speed and make a basic attack with a +1 bonus or be able to conduct one of my at-wills I think 9/10 I'd choose the at-will.

IG: Could you post a map and init for where we are. I am confused about the order and where everyone is now. Would it be a good idea to upload a current map at a fixed name and web address so we can link and refresh it from time to time ?

I have lost the plot. Everyone has told me that many times and its true !

renau1g's last character post just brought something to my attention that seems weird to me...For some reason the last map seems to have lost the character labels. This has the unfortunate consequence of Jude attacking Druthruss from behind, which I am hoping is NOT what he intends. ;)

Just thought I would point that out....I could have sworn that the labels were there last time I checked before.........

Thoughts...

Sorry it took so long for an update.

When I updated the last map, I forgot to turn on the labels. I made no such mistake this time. I did take the liberty of adjusting Jude's actions so that he'll be attacking a bad guy though, instead of Druthruss.

This seems to be a lot tougher of an encounter than I had intended for it to be. Granted, I've been rolling better than normal for the bad guys, but still... What are your thoughts? Am I playing it unfairly, or is it just the way the ball is bouncing?

I think we'd be faring better if I didn't miss on my encounter power. >.> That bugbear woulda gotten smashed.

I haven't played enough to tell really, as my other 4E encounters were also extremely brutal, it seems 4E is designed to practically kill everyone every encounter. Either that or I just have RBDM's. But as I said, I'm no expert.
