[4e, Maptools] Players wanted for Long Term Game

I want to put forward a tentative interest in the Seeker. I don't normally like ranged classes much, but the one I most enjoyed (and played longest) was an Archer Ranger... who I mostly felt was boring because his powers were dull and did mostly damage.

What do we have so far? Strikers and Defenders? Is anyone going to be a Leader or Controller? Are we trying for a balanced group, or just playing whatever we want and working around any issues?

Well here is how things look party-wise thus far. (I'm only counting people who have responded in October with characters.)

lexoanvil - Assassin (I'm assuming Revenant)
ppaladin123 - Dragonborn Paladin
Christopher Robin - Possibly Seeker
RathWolf - Shaman

Thus, at this point, we potentially have one of each archetype, not counting me. Christopher, if you want to go with Seeker, I'll go with a second Striker (Likely Avenger so I can stick with my Deva idea). If you want to play something else, let me know and I'll go with the Invoker or Seeker (Yeah, he sounds awesome) so we have some Control in the party.

Yes, level 1. I don't want to speed to Paragon level. I'll likely not count Xp, and instead level you guys up when it feels right/appropriate. Unless people enjoy tracking XP.

Seekers do look intriguing. :) I'll have to think how I'm going to toy with that. But since Rath is going for a Dwarven SHaman, I can play up another angle.

What race are you looking at, Chris? Elf? Shifter? If you want Gith, I'm OK with their stats, but I just never cared for Gith in terms of their background (I have no experience with Planescape :)). Or you could break the mold and take advantage of my house rule, go with something that doesn't have a Dex/Wis race combo.

Don't feel bottled in. The Deva isn't necessary, I just like a certain spin I can put on the campaign with it. Don't feel pressured to play it, or play an Avenger. Even if you wanted to stick with Deva, you could go Cleric. Otherwise, another defender would be useful, but Avenger works too (yay another radiant user mwahaha).

Location

So far, Chris and Worg have both mentioned the North (with a mention of the East by Worg too). Anyone else?

I don't like tracking XP, so feel free to ignore it on my behalf.

I was thinking of Elf Seeker. It's kinda cliche, but it has flavor I like. My other thought was a Human Barbarian.

The thing is... Seeker looks shiny, but Primal Power comes out before PHB3 (In fact, it comes out... this month. Hm), so all the new stuff will be for the old classes. Seeker only has a single build, and like... 3 heroic feats. It's a little thin on the ground, especially for a role I don't typically play and a class that I might end up not liking in play. (You can never tell, with this stuff.)

Argh, WotC is always releasing shiny new stuff that attracts my attention.

Another vote for the North and East by Ppaladin via email going over his character.

You're welcome to die and bring in a new character. ;)

Although I would say a party with 3 full time strikers is a hint much. I'd prefer it if you swapped out a leader if you don't like the Seeker, or maybe a defender.

I'm perfectly OK with playing it by ear, bro. No worries.

Also.

I am OK with six people, but no more after that. The reason I think six is good is that it allows a "buffer zone" if one-two people don't show one session.
