D&D 4E 4E miniatures predictions

I haven't seen this discussed yet, so I thought I'd mention it for those who might find it useful or interesting.

I've noticed that several pieces of 4E art tend to show characters on a flat plane - the best way to design minis that are easily castable (as I quickly learned from our company's foray into the old HackMaster miniature line). A great example of this is the dwarf on the new Races & Classes clerics PDF preview. It's really obvious that this is a sketch for designing a mini, since it shows front and back views, but I've seen other recent art that's just front view.

(However, I don't keep up with the D&D minis, so I'm not sure what all the 3.5 minis look like. Which means that some of this art may have been dredged from the WotC files and re-used for 4E, and I don't know it.)

Usually, if a monster is a first run production, they try to make it look as close to the original MM artwork as possible (they did this even under 3.x). So I would imagine that most of the 4eMM art that will be released in the books will coincide with the Desert or Desolations figures and most of the following miniature lines products (meaning if you want a sneak peek at the artwork, try to see the artwork on the minis cards.)
