Minis for TTRPGs

Any advice for storing a ton of minis (decent / budget options)? Thankfully none of the foam above degraded too badly (I have seen foam that dissolved and stuck to model trains before) but I need to figure out a better way to store all of those minis.
For plastics, especially the pre-painted kind, something like this: Plano Medium Pro-Latch Organizer - Walmart.com
I have hundreds of the old D&D Mini Combat game minis stored in this type of container. Get large ones for storage at your place and a smaller one or two for transport to remote game sites. Can also store things like the colored glass beads so useful for marking various things. The dividers can be setup to fit various sizes of minis and other things.

If you're in the United States, you can go someplace like Harbor Freight tools and pick up some equipment cases around Christmas or other times of the year when they're on sale. These equipment cases are used by photographers, gun enthusiast, or others who possess expensive gear they need to secure. Something like Pelican Equipment Cases, except go for the less expensive brands as they'll work just fine for miniatures. I got a few cases years ago when Harbor Freight had a big sale of the generic cases.
