I don't put much value in sales for the core rulebooks. Those sales will always be high. It's the stuff that comes out after that is demonstrative of how popular the new edition is.

So if the sales for the core books would've tanked, you'd still say it's impossible to tell how popular the edition is?

yes. Most of lists get data from chains and independent book stores
