4e Stranded

Yeah, loads of interest. Im currently toying with the idea of running 2 games based on this. There's loads of shipwreckeds, and should be enough to form 2 adventuring parties. So the 2 groups would then be in the same "game", but doing separate stuff on the island.. and only meet outside of the encounters etc.

...ummm, so there's one group, and "the Others"? :D

Here's the first draft of the Ship Manifest. Feel free to use these NPC's in your backgrounds etc. Or, create your own NPC's in any of the 15 "open slots".

Also, the "core" of the crew are already fleshed out a bit more than the rest. More will come, and/or added if any of you chose to elaborate yourself.

The Crew

The Captain.
Captain Selayne Firon.
A beautiful elven woman, radiating confidence and command. She is unusually pale of skin and her white hair hangs freely down her back. She's an elegant creature, swaying in her walk, always ready with a smile and a wink. She usually wears Red-brown leathers, sometimes with blue decorations. She wears a silver chain woven into her hair, with a blue saphire centered on her forehead.

The First Mate.
Morrina Firon, Elven Female.
Selayne's younger sister. Also pale of skin, but shortcropped white hair. Elegant as well, but not as much as her older sister.

The Second Mate.
Lionilo Firon, Elven Male.
As his two older sisters, Lionilo is unusually pale of skin, but where his sisters are white haired, his hair is almost coal black. Also possess some of the elegance, probably a family trait.

The Cook.
Fillonger "Phlegm", Dwarven male.
Shorter than average.
Bearded with but upper lip bare. Has a tendency to spit after each sentence he speaks (Eeeww, what about the food?) Mild mannered, though he seems gruff. Is like an "old uncle" for the crew on the boat, and the source of the nicknames of the Crew.

The Lookout.
"Gangly"
A young eladrin male. Got good eyesight, and can "smell abd weather".
Skinny, dark of skin, long limbs, and seems to have trouble co-ordinating them. Wears a sheepish grin more or less all the time.

The Cargomaster.
Gronish "clubber" - male Dragonborn
Dark red, bordering on purple color. Fierce, quick to anger, but just as quick to calm down. Likes to keep control, and keep lists of everything on board.

The Weaponmaster.
Sorishna "stabber" - female Dragonborn.
Wife of Clubber. Light green in color. Where her husband is fierce and fiery, she is mild and tempered. When her anger is unleashed though, it is furious.

The Navigator.
Seelma "Badeye" Shorly. Female Halfling.
Middleaged, silent. Lost her left eye.

+ 10 Crew Members; Squint, Weevil, Longarm, Drowner, Flatnose, Sqeak, Checker, Spoon, Line and Lobber.

The Silverwaves' - A family of Eladrins.
The Mother.
The Father.
Middle Daughter.
Youngest Daughter.

The Brothers - 3 Dwarven brothers, adventurers.
Eldest, The Leader.
Middle, The Scoundrel.
Youngest, The Careless.

The Merry Troupe of Traveling Entertainment
Lute Player, Elf.
Harp Player, Halfling.

Poet, Thiefling.
Singer, Dragonborn.
Dancer, Human.

The Orphans.
The Matron, elderly Halfling woman
6 year old human girl.

A mute Dragonborn, female
Mysterious Elven man.

I can see there is a plethora of interest in this game. I would love to throw my hat in the ring for either group if you decide to go that route.

Tyler DeBois - Human, Ranger, Age:24, Good Aligned

Tyler is an entrepreneur. He is a mercantile by nature. As the third son of an Ibenhold merchant, he was forced to make his own way in the world. He found a unique trade in pelts and minerals along the coast to the north. Once a year the Silver Swan would make an arranged stop for Tyler to on-load his goods and take them to market in Ibenhold. The jovial young man was well liked by any who would meet him. His calm demeanor and passion for life made him a smiling figure in any crowd. He reveres Avandra as his patron deity, but is not a particularly religious man.

Description: A clean shaven young man with sun bleached hair. He is either in comfortable linens or covered in protective polar bear hides. He is of slight stature with hands that move as he speaks. He has the mark of a professional trapper.

(forgot the item history) Longbow: A shifter friend of his known as Derek Silver tought him the ways of the northern coast. The two of them lived and hunted several seasons out of a cave. They found one desperate winter a polar bear and tried to take it down. Derek did not survive the encounter and Tyler carries his bow and the hide of the bear that killed his friend in remembrance.

If you decide to go with two groups (and you pick me for one of them), I'd like to be placed in a group with a second 'Leader'-type character, if that's at all possible. Cyrial is my first 4th Edition character, and I'm afraid I may have made him a bit under-optimized, so having a backup 'Leader' (perhaps a Warlord) might be helpful to the group.

More background: Cyrial managed (through sheer luck) to bluff his way into a free ride aboard the Swan, but he wasn't convincing enough to secure himself a private cabin. Fortunately, the Dwarven Brothers agreed to allow Cyrial to share their room. The oldest brother is suspicious, but hasn't figured out that Cyrial isn't really a cleric of Melora. The middle brother quickly saw through Cyrial's ruse, but hasn't said anything; he enjoys pretending to be very curious about the Meloran religion, asking Cyrial all sorts of religious questions and laughing behind his beard as the young man fumbles to improvise answers. The youngest brother doesn't appear to care very much about Cyrial at all.

Teiflings and Dragonborn are new... It is expected to have an overabundance of them at first. Soon all will realize the power of Human Racials... :)

Let us hope not. I do like having a few non-Humans in a group, but if they discover the awesomeness of Humans we'll have All-Human groups!

Open invitation to make up NPCs... [+20 attack vs. Will defense]
Must.. exercise willpower... post in own... games... first...

Fodor, Bugbear Wizard
(With your permission, I would like to use the Illusions from Dragon.)

Life presents many, inconveniences, for a bugbear who practices scholarly magic. There are few teachers, and few opportunities for expanding ones repetoire. But Fodor has learned to live with those minor troubles.

A burly mage who has killed many rivals who thought they could best a goblin who carried a staff instead of a spear, or a wand instead of a sword, Fodor is a stuent of deceptive magics. Those spells that he employs compliment his already surprising status, misleading the minds of foes which gives him the openings he needs to defeat them.

But while Fodor is able to hide some of his rough edges within civilization, one should never forget that he is still a bugbear, filled with many of the same cravings and desires; he savours the flesh of his enemies, and his lack of mercy would make Hruggek pround.

While travelling aboard the Silver Swan, Fodor has mostly kept to himself, but he has taken notice of the kobold sailor, Wittgenstein, who seems to be almost equally out of place.

Str: 15 Con: 12 Dex: 16 Int: 16 Wis: 13 Cha: 8
HP: 22 HS: 7/5 Languages: Common, Goblin
Abilities: Low-light Vision, Oversized, Arcane Implement Mastery (Wand of Accuracy), Cantrips, Ritual Casting, Spellbook
Skills: (+2 Intimidate/+2 Stealth) Arcana, Dungeoneering, Insight, Religion
At-Will: Illusory Ambush, Magic Missile
Encounter: Predatory Eye, Grasping Shadows
Daily: Phantom Chasm/Flaming Sphere
Feats: Dark Fury
Equipment: Cloth Armour, Large Dagger, Adventurers Kit, Wand, Spellbook, Holy Symbol, 10 gp Alchemical Reagents, 6 gp
Rituals: Comprehend Language, Make Whole, Tenser's Floating Disk

Special Item: +1 Cloak of Protection. In Fodor's tribe, there was once a priest of Hruggek. The priest was the only one that could challenge the bugbear wizard in a magical duel. The priest thought that Fodor would make an ideal sacrifice to their dark god, and Fodor disagreed. In a prolonged battle of magic, the wizard proved victorious and took the mantle of his fallen foe, which turned out to be magical. He has kept it close eve since.
