While you talk, the night, in all its density, creeps sleepily among the depths of Castle Hood’s dungeon. Suddenly, as if roused from some primordial slumber, the quietness of the dungeon evaporates. You hear the sound of a solitary figure lumbering toward your cell. The clanking of his armor and the heaviness of his breathing communicate that your visitor is a tall, powerful being. You hear a raspy intake of breath, and with its exhalation comes a spray of fire that lights the torches mounted in the wall. Captain Scultone stands before you, bedecked in battle gear and carrying a large sack over his shoulder. “Prisoners, you have to get up! By Blackmoor’s fist, you have to get up! Your lives are in danger. I’ve just gotten intelligence that says the murderer is still out there, and by the fire in my lungs, he wants you lot dead. His only hope must’ve been one of you taking the fall for him. He must know that the judge was going to acquit you tomorrow. Now, he needs to have you silenced. Take these and go to The Fancy Drake. I’ll meet you there at sunrise, and we’ll hunt the bastard down together. Stay low and stay quiet.” Scultone unlocks the cell door, opens it, and hands you the bag he was carrying. In it, you find the equipment that was confiscated from you when you were arrested.
