[sblock=ooc]I took the liberty of rolling a History check for Torath, which resulted in a natural 20. So here is what Torath learned in school about Munsu.[/sblock] Torath's mind wanders back to the lessons the masters taught him in the monastery. He remembers something that one of his instructors, a young, steely-eyed monk named Shogun, said in class. "In order to understand Munsu, you must understand how he was in life. History tells us that he was an elf, and that he was a master thief. He adventured with his brother, Bayne, among other heroes. Munsu, however, realized that once they defeated The Evil One, they would ascend to godhood. Before this happened, they say, Munsu decided to have one more night of fun before they went into battle against The Evil One's hordes." "Munsu, along with his brother, went to the Black Forest, to a dark mountain that housed a race of elves known as the drow. They battled their way through an entire army of the dark elves, slaying each mercilessly. Finally, they reached the heart of the mountain, where the young queen waited hopelessly for her army to stop the intruders. While Bayne held off the rest of the advancing drow, Munsu coerced (or perhaps worse) the queen into sleeping with him." "Afterward, he and his brother killed the rest of the drow, leaving only the violated queen in her mountain kingdom. Munsu the Cunning and his brother murdered an entire city of elves over the course of that day, all because they knew that they would soon ascend to godhood and be beyond reproach." "So this is what you must remember when thinking about Munsu: you must not consider him within any context aside from his own. It will not do to compare his morality to Adele's or his wisdom to Blackmoor's. Instead, Munsu must be viewed as a sort of controlled chaos, from which any manner of wickedness might spring." Another disconnected lesson reminds Torath of what he knows of The Cloak: "The Cloak was created by an assassin-for-hire named Mordenkrad, who purchased the services of mercenaries and rapscallions in order to conduct clandestine criminal activities. This group was formed well over a hundred years ago. After the rise of The Evil One, a mercenary named Valencia Blackblade infiltrated it and took it over, using it to combat The Evil One's forces. After a long reign of shady dealings after the death of The Evil One, she was usurped by a tiefling named Teach. Teach took control of The Cloak shortly before Munsu and the other gods defeated The Evil One for good." [sblock=ooc]I'll post an update to your traveling as soon as I get out of class around noon.[/sblock]
