4E VoiP/Chat MapTool Tuesday Evenings

A) We need a different board. We are technically off topic in this forum. We have several options. Google groups/Yahoo groups, EN world groups (new feature)

I'd like to try the ENworld group as this is like our home. :) I've already created a google gorup but that is empty.

B) Yes, offline RP stuff will help a lot.

C) Expect my maptools-fu to grow very quickly.

If anyone for some reason wants to not play anymore (hopefully not) just make sure to let the rest of us know asap since that way we can rotate in people for the future games. I hope everyone wants to come back and trusts that we will get better at the medium. I also would like people to get into the idea of RPing using the forums to save time when out of game time.

nope, im looking forward to the next session. I hope more people can get used to using voicechat though, its just not the same game when everything is typed. Also I hope we get more opportunity to RP, because it cant all be about combat.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. Truth be told I'm painfully shy and social phobic. I've developed coping strategies for D&D under normal circumstances. I do conventions, I've done loads of stuff and I wasn't expecting a problem. However, I was underprepared for the game and iut was my first VoiP Game. That had me off guard and the lack of faces to distinguish voices and to see emotions visually really mesed me up.

It will get a lot better really quickly.

I'm sure it will, it's my first game also, and I didn't use the voice chat for the reasons I had mentioned (it would've been Wail of the Banshee on everyone ;) )

Anyways, I had fun and once we are a little quicker on Initiatives (which will come in time) and more comfortable with the 4e rules (This was my first game with them) it'll go faster and allow more time for RP.

THanks Gene for spending the time and effort to get it going :)

I gritted my teeth and just went for it too actually, but once i started i wanted to keep going - its a lot harder when everyone is typing though :(
It was still fun, but I'm a real sucker for RP stuff - even though I'm not usually the one to RP the most. The combat was interesting, and I hope now that we have more familiarity with the rules things will start to get smoother and quicker :)
Looking forward to Tuesday's game.

Oh I absolutely realize it was a rough start, thats why im so optimistic about Tuesday's game: We've worked all the major kinks out so, yay! Also, fix your mic Mr DM ;)
