4E VoiP/Chat MapTool Tuesday Evenings

I would like feedback on the direction of the campaign.

1) The Retaking of Forgehold

JOIN US!
The Great Merchant Houses of Deluna and Verhaun are currently for brave and hardy individuals to help reclaim the ancient trade city of Forgehold. Founded by the Dwarven King Rolvik ages ago, the city was a nexus of trade amongst the dwarves and it is here that Nerath's great Dwarven Road ends. When Nerath fell, so did Forgehold. The resources this city holds cannot be left to enrich the goblins that infest its ruins. We will fight to take back the city and you can join in the prosperity!

You see this notice pasted up near a tavern you frequent... the offer seems intriguing and you are eager to test your mettle.

A powerful alliance of trade houses, nobles and dwarf clans are seeking to rebuild Forgehold for many purposes.
The creatures in the city are mostly scattered about but many are refusing to leave. A Small town has been erected against the South gate of the city. The characters will start off coming to the Town and getting mission in the wild parts of the city. There are rumors that there was something DARK in the Dwarf city that drove them off. There are many little intrigue laden reasons why any individual character might be coming here.

2) Greycloaks.

10 years ago you were on the losing side in a civil war... now you wander at the edges of the civilisation, trying to make your way though the world. Imagine Firefly with fantasy replacing the scifi. More of a wandering campaign, maybe getting chased by enemies, good times.

Hello, I would consider this as I'm sure it would be much faster than a PbP game. Let me check in at home tonight and I'll let you know tomorrow. I'd be interested in the Wizard role.

Edit: I like the retaking of the city idea, perhaps we could take a small keep and make it our Base of Operations? Even have to defend against counter attacks?

I like the first idea. I have been listening to the penny arcade podcast and love the idea of having a "corporation" that we act under, could be real fun with that dynamic. Possible wizard is good, but yeah, defender needed. 5pm my time is perfect for me, and I can go next tuesday as well. I will try to contact people I know to fill the remaining spot if no one jumps on the defender role.

To save time, once the date/time/party is set in stone I wanted to post or PM Gene about how he? might rule certain game events so we can work around it in the game. Specifically, things like stealth and intimidate since they can make or break a build if a player wanted to use them. I have been following the threads on the WoTC forum on the topics and the points are fleshed out enough to make clear sense on both. Again, I don't like rule lawyering , but hate nerfing fair game mechanics even more.

*edit - purely for curiosity sake, the name charwoman, means your a girl right? If so it would be a fun change of pace, my groups always had a male DM.

Hello, if there's still a spot open I could take up the defender role. However I've never used Maptools (or any online tabletop really) so I may be a little shaky on that end. I downloaded the programs this morning to try and get a little familiar with them though.

What VOIP program were you planning on using? About the only one I've had any experience with is Ventrillo but I'm certainly willing to try something different.

Also, how do I go about making a character for online use? PM or post if you feel I can fill the slot.

And finally just so I'm clear on the time, 7pm EDT is 6pm CST correct?(I live in Alabama)

Hello there, a buddy and I were discussing D&D tonight and I thought it might be fun to get in an online game since we can't play face to face. If you have room we'd both like to get in this game. I would play any role that needs to be filled but I'm not sure about him. If there is space open let us know and we'll roll some characters :)

ooo, cat fight btwn Dungnmaster001 and smallkiwi for the spot ? Seriously though, I bet it might be alright with 6-7 well skilled players (ready to act as soon as it's your turn, fast teamwork execution, etc...). If we can manage both a fighter and a paly, we would be in the :):):):)!!

Hi there,

It looks like you've got a lot of people already lining up for your game, but if there ends up being another opening, I would like to be considered.

I've not tried using maptools or a VoiP program, but am willing to learn since playing online is about my only option at this point. I'm in the Eastern time zone and do have Tuesday nights free currently.

-Thank you-
