But admittedly more as a design exercise than an early retirement plan.
As a design exercise it seems interesting, but a product line?
I don't know, 3.75 seems to have all the downsides of converting to 4e (it's still a new edition, people will STILL be faced with the prospect of some conversions and feeling their old books are "obsolete") with none of the advantages (it won't be all that new or all that shiny and it won't be compatible with the world's most popular RPG cause that will be 4e no matter how much crazy talk people throw around).
I'm also not really sure what certain people's rush is on the license.
Sure, I'd like to have it NOW, along with a complete online SRD. I'd also like to be the King of Londinia and wear a shiny hat.
But certain people in the industry have been saying things to the effect of "if I don't get a license and SRD in time to release 4e product for the next GenCon, screw it I'm doing 3.75!"
Which again, from a long term business angle, just seems a really odd choice.
