D&D 4E 4e Wizards - No More Necromancers, Enchanters, Summoners???

Considering how there were 11 classes in the 3e PHB and 8 in the 4e PHB, I think that's a given.

But if those 8 classes have les overlap compared to the Holy Not-As-Good-A-Fighter and the Primitive Not-as-Good-A-Fighter and the Woodsy fighter that were in the 3e PHB, I consider that a success.

The number of classes isn't what I consider a benchmark of options, its what concepts you can create with the tools given. If those 8 classes with all the talents/feats/skills etc don't fulfill as many concepts as the 111 with all there feats and skills and class abilities I don't consider it a success in that arena. 4e overall may be a success due mechanic changes, but who knows if it will be as versatile of a game at the get go when it comes to character creation time.
