I'm going to close this. Then I'm going to discuss with the other moderators whether we should peremptorily suspend everyone who was a jackass in this thread. As many times as we've said "don't be a dick" and "if a thread isn't to your taste, then just move on," apparently folks aren't listening.

Yup, drama-filled threads abandoning the forum before the game is out can be annoying. That's why we have 'ignore.' It's still no excuse to unload all your frustration.

So I'll get back to you on that. Frankly, I try not to moderate when angry, and I'm too pissed off right now to make the call.
