5 level core class?

I wanted a detour that would allow a character to learn some effective monk combat abilities that didn't require the full blown monk experience or alignment requirements.

Questions? Comments? Doubts of my sanity?

You know monks only have the medium BAB, right? Personally, I'd make the special abilities into feats so that you coule make a monk-like character with a fighter since I just don't like the idea of a 5 level core class.

thnx, Didn't think to do that. As for the BAB, I cranked it up because the class would focus entirely on their combat ability. But that still fits in with the Fighter feats thing.

Ok, i kicked the monk abilities out as feats.

Deflect Blow
You can deflect some attacks away from you.
Prerequisites: Combat Expertise, Dodge.
Benefit: This training uses your awareness of you environment to allow you to dodge blows and deflect attacks. When unarmored and unencumbered, you may add your Wisdom bonus (if any) to your base attack bonus (up to 5, as per the Combat Expertise feat) as a dodge bonus to your AC.
Special: A fighter may select Deflect Blow as one of his fighter bonus feats (see page 38 of the Player’s Handbook).

Quick Strikes
You can make successive unarmed strikes.
Prerequisites: Dex 13, Combat Reflexes.
Benefit: When unarmored, you may make a flurry of blows at the expense of accuracy. You may make another attack in a round at your highest base attack bonus; however, all your attacks in that round, including attacks of opportunity, take a –2 penalty. You may add your Wisdom bonus (if any) to your attack rolls in your flurry of blows routine as an insight bonus. This flurry of blows may only be used by light melee weapons or unarmed strikes.
Special: A fighter may select Quick Strikes as one of his fighter bonus feats (see page 38 of the Player’s Handbook).
