How about a more civilized approach: A free market trade of the magic item for goods, services, or real estate.

"Come one, come alL! Trade in your magic items and get 10,000 acres of prime real estate for each one!"

So, then, we can officially add...

9) Disenchanters (they're in both the Fiend Folio and the Tome of Horrors - each is quite different than the other)

And some unofficial additions...

10) Zone of anti-magic (cheapo tactic, but it gets the job done)

11) Constructs specially created for magic item destruction (much like the psion killer, only for magic items)

17) The PCs lose their mercenary charter (due to the new king reviewing all charters), the document that allowed them to carry use and own armor and weapons, and magic items without being nobles or ranking members of the Mage's Guild.
The kings authority on this matter is backed up by several dozen high-level clerics and wizards, who have gathered lots of information on the PCs and other targets. The king doesn't like mercenaries that are too heavily armed and the PCs qualify.

18) Nightwing - drains magic - though this magic can be restored via a dispel evil cast within a very limited time period.

19) Nightwalker - crushing items in its hands.

20 targeted disintegrate

30 Shatter/shout/greatshout spell to knock out potions

31 manavore (magical rust monster from Penumbra Bestiary)

32 Mord's Disjunction

33 That slim chance on failed saves of destructive spells.

34 dispel magic (what do you mean it was only a permanized spell on the item?)
