D&D 5E 5e CB's Stonefast OOC -- COMPLETE

I gave you guys a glaive (a reach weapon) back in Room 7 when you fought the skeletons. Did ya'll leave the glaive behind in Room 8 after you rested? It's not listed as equipment on anyone's RG entry.

Did we stick it in the bag of holding? I think the issue was that Colden was the only one who could really wield it and he had no desire to do so.

We (I) definitely put it in there, I found the post in the IC. Considering there was a greatsword in there in the first place, I have no idea if either would have torn a hole in it. I don't currently have a copy of the DMG. I'll check and see if it is in any of the free stuff.

Bag of Holding is in the Basic DM Rules, although a sidebar mentions those rules may not be the final ones in the DMG. Relevant points:

This cloth sack has an interior space considerably largerthan its outside dimensions, roughly 2 feet in diameter
at the mouth and 4 feet deep.
Glaive wouldn't fit in it, it's too long. I don't know about the greatsword or the chest.

The bag has a few limitations. If the bag is overloaded,
or if a sharp object pierces it or tears it, the bag ruptures
and is destroyed.
Not sure if the greatsword was sheathed, but it would have already destroyed the bag before we found it if unsheathed. As far as the glaive, I would think Fulgrim would have been smart enough to try to stick it in butt down and would have stopped once it was clear it wouldn't fit.

Apparently, we've been carrying it around with us.

Please do not think that way. I'm sure there's no need to check.

But when I do, it does say if it is overloaded, pierced, or torn (I'm *sure* those last two mean from the outside...) then it ruptures and is destroyed. (Basic DM rules pdf p. 59).

Is there more to that entry? The grammar suggests the size dimensions listed modify the outside dimension, not the interior capacity.

I have the free DMG .pdf, I'll go look.

And by DM fiat: the greatsword is sheathed.

EDIT: It's my contention that the dimensions given describe the exterior of the bag, not its interior size capacity. The free basic rules in the DMG .pdf say this: "The bag can hold up to 500 pounds, not exceeding a volume of 64 cubic feet." I think the chest fits for sure. I personally don't have a problem with you stuffing a sheathed greatsword in there, either. I think the glaive fits, but the .pdf expressly states that "if a sharp object pierces it or tears it, the bag ruptures and is destroyed." I think you better find a way to swaddle the glaive head (or leave the head poking out the end of the bag?).

Works for me. Not sure why they include the dimensions of the outside other than the mouth, which I assume limits what can be placed into the bag (has to clear the mouth). I'm not sure if the head sticks out or not given we don't know how deep it goes. Probably just strap it to someone's back. Carrying capacity is pretty ridiculous for anyone with a decent strength.
