D&D 5E 5e Psion+++++thread

Man I love psionics and I love every psionics thread.

What I love about psionics is what most people hate: that there are so many different takes on it. From the Talent to the Psion to the Mystic and so on, we have so many different classes that express "power" in such vividly unique ways all compatiable with the 5E/R system. I could run a game of all 3rd Party Psionic classes + the UA Mystic and it'd create a world of crazy insane mystery. The kind of sublime magic not seen in a lot of D&D media.

I want an official 5E class. Call it Psion, Psyker, Mesmer, Mystic, Talent, ESper, Psychic, or whatever. I want it. And I want more psionic subclasses -- a barbarian, a druid, a paladin, a ranger. And I want an official setting that has psionics as the default magic and arcane/divine are rare and fleeting. I want it so bad I'm basically making it myself, but boy do I want it.
What about a 5e version of the 6 Hidden Houses from 3e's Complete Psionic?

House Adon-Metacreativity
House Celare- Psychoportation
House Cogitare- Telepathy
House Incendar- Psychokinesis
House Novar- Clairsentience
House Vaymin- Psychometabolism

Eberron, but with psionic houses and Dragonmarks (courtesy of the Gem Dragons). ;)

Expanded Psionic Handbook (3e)
Blues
Dromite
Duergar
Elans
Githyanki
Githzerai
Half-Giants
Maenads
Thri-Kreen
Xephs

Complete Psionic (3e)
Synad
Okay do blues need a stat block, or are they a skin condition?
dromite feel like they need a redesign but have something to work with.
duergar is a dwarf sub-race.
elans and maenads are mutant humans; merge them till we get something out of them.
giths would be reprints but have fans.
half giants would just be Goliaths these days.
thri kreen would be a dark sun option, but I doubt fit everywhere else.

Synad seems mostly boring, and I have seen its multi-mind thing done way better.

the hell is a xephs?
I know 4e added the shardmind who could work, but feel too frindge to work as the poster option.

I think Houses are too easy, I'd like a mixture of factions and a big dose of Wild Talents to keep things chaotic. But your idea is fun!

As for what inspires my "Psion," it's more mysticism then anything. Bene Gesserit to me are the default Psions. I throw some other archetypes in there, like Wild Talent, Mesmer (illusionist/trickster, think Guild Wars 2), Psychic (Prof X style), and Oracle. Sometimes I even throw Witch in there, since the seidr is pretty psionic. Sometimes I add a "Mysterion" subclass that uses more mystical tools and creates powers. Can even put an Exorcist in there, depending on flavoring.

Weird powers used by weird people in mysterious ways that are hard to classify.

Both actually IMO. From the Expanded Psionics Handbook:

Blues are a subrace of Goblins with an innate knack for psionics. Their bluish skin sets them apart from other goblins immediately.
the hell is a xephs?
They are a rather bland race of psionic humanoids known for their agility and raw speed. I would put them with the Elans and Maenads as a psionic offshoot of humans.

houses?

I know metacrativinty, psychportation, and Clairsentience are a bit weak
Merge telepathy and Clairsentience into one big mind power thing.
The other two have one too limited to have much use and one that has too many possible meanings.
The three clear ones are mind, body, and kinesis.

But having six would be nice. I find six a likeable number.

Telepathy merged with Clairsentience makes for a great deal of psy damage and a thinking man's bard.
Psychometabolism is a healing and buffing spec with maybe some acid and poison damage on the side(how would we define it looking as we could go body horror here)
Psychokinesis is the direct attack spec mostly force damage but with some fire and ice for pyro and cryokinesis.
