Insight 4 - what is this for besides lie detector?

Insight 4 + 1 = 5 The best skill for PCs. As DM, sometimes my portrayal of NPCs is lacking in context; this skill supplies a way past my crappy acting skills.

So, I agree with @RealAlHazred - Insight is a great skill which is absolutely not just "lie detector" or "mind reading without magic" (refer to DMG p244). It's just that it gets so misused (misunderstood?) that I've downvoted it.
