90% of the "errata" in 4e was not "errors", but post publishing changes to the game. Actual errors in the publishing of the game was very few. For instance...the change to magic missiles was not because the original magic missile was somehow "wrong", but to send the game in a direction they wanted. Likewise the changes to "Come and Get It".
The alternative, embraced by earlier editions, was either to ignore issues, or publish stealth fixes in later books without labeling them as fixes so they just looked like power ups.
Errata isn't even a very good term. For the most part they were rules updates.
