yeah, they sprung the release date pretty late. What's interesting is that White wolf's Vampire game is being released the SAME day as a rpg action game using the half life 2 source engine. It shoudl be great (probably better than Halo 2) but i don't have a pc to run it. So very, very sad...

No Hype...just facts.

Just spotted this at one of my regular haunts, it seems that some HL2 disks were sold already from certain EB stores...the catch, no matter what, the game will NOT work, DL or Disk load, requires an internet connection to activate the game.
The news of the 'release' has traveled fast through the Steam Foums, Rage3D(which went offline with mad people viewing the news) and a few other sites,(I think another site went down of the same thing)

Rage3D.

UPDATE: it is reported that 3 managers were fired for the 'early' sales.

Almost makes me feel bad for those who got the game early... wait, that feeling is rapidly disappearing beneath a veil of amusement tinted with envy. Suckers! :p

It's a good thing I'll have a new video card in a couple of days; I've been awaiting this game for a long time.

Between Half-Life 2 and World of Warcraft (which is coming out a week after HL2), I have a feeling that I'm going to be spending a lot of time at my computer over the next few weeks.

Also, with Vampire: Bloodlines and Chronicles of Riddick coming out on the PC soon, and the dreaded time-sucker that World of WarCraft looks to be, I might as well invest in that computer chair with the built in toilet
