True. Of course, that's assuming you want to weaken yourself by not getting as many 4th level spells. It could be worthwhile if you are also picking up Chain Spell though. Howevver, unless you have an odd ECL, you' just missed your 12th level feat, so it'll be two levels before using a 4th level spell to get Haste will be as useful as using a 6th level spell to get Mass Haste.

Ah, but the question is, are you indeed weakening yourself? I'd take haste over quite of few of the 4th-level spells out there. But then, I have a hard time imagining going all the way to 13th level as a sorcerer and not having it yet.

I think I've seen more hastes than fireballs or lightning bolts.

I wonder if that's related to my urge to reduce or drop the AC bonus from haste . .

I agree that haste is great, and better than many 4th level spells. However, I'd rather have Mass Haste than Haste.
