A *Balanced* Radiant Servant of Pelor?

Based on everyone's feedback, this what I think I am going to do. Let me know if I am completely off my rocker (because hey, sometimes I am).

1. remove spell advancement at 1st and 5th level.
2. make Will the only "good" save throw
3. replace the Aura of Warding ability with this one:

Sealed Life (Su): At 3rd level, the Radiant Servant of Pelor gains a +2 sacred bonus to all Fortitude saves made to remove negative levels. This bonus improves to +4 at 8th level.

4. remove the martial weapon proficiency
5. change the hit dice to d8

Whadda ya think?

Requiring Empower Spell and Maximize Spell is a reasonable approach (esp. since Extra Turning is not a feat IMC since I use different turn undead rules). I would also ditch the weapon proficiencies and give him a poor BAB. That would seem to fix most of the problems.

Again, Clerics, unlike every other class, don't give a **** about BAB reductions, due to the problem of Divine Power. With that spell in play, it's safe to assume that BAB should not be used as a balancing factor for classes that are allowed the use of that spell in it's current state, as a high level cleric is be able to use it in most, if not all battles, or find a way to make it last long enough to use it in all the fights that 'count.' I think that in the case of the cloistered cleric, it works to an extent, because it's a base class variant that also gets an average of 1 HP less per level, no shield proficiency, no medium armor proficiency, and no heavy armor proficiency. So, at 10th level or so, when the cleric's finally getting Divine Power, he's supposed to have slogged through a number of combats already where his to-hit was poor, and to bring himself back up to 'normal' martially, he has to invest 3 feats out of his 7. Since that is essentially highly-suboptimal, unless he multiclasses into something like fighter for a level or two to pick up the proficiencies and boost his sagging HP a bit, he won't get much effective use out of it unless polymorphed into a high-armor creature.

I disagree. Divine power is still subject to the limitations of being a 4th level spell, standard action casting time, and [caster level] round duration. A wise cleric of 7th-10th level will have it prepared once, maybe twice if he is a battle cleric. A higher level cleric might usually have it prepared twice, but that is stretching it. At 15th level, it becomes a bit more useful when quickened, but we're talking about an 8th level spell. That is a significant resource for a 15th level cleric and even after casting it, he isn't as good of at fighting as the fighter because he probably lacks the stat-boosting items the fighter has and the 8 bonus fighter feats.

A poor BAB just highlights the fact that radiant servants spend more time in research and devoting their magic to healing and not fighting. It isn't even a huge penalty to the cleric's attack rolls anyway. It simply fits with the theme and d6 HD. I didn't mean to say it was a major balancing factor.
