A Big List of EN World Quotes...

Scribble

First Post
So I've noticed that a lot of people like to quote other EN World members in their signature lines... Usually when they feel they've said something interesting or important.

For some reason I thought it might be fun to create a massive list of these quotes. It's not so massive right now though, so if you have a quote in your sig... post it here. :P

Thanks!

(If you could post it with the name of the person who said it first, that would be very helpful... EG: Scribble- It's not so massive right now though...)

(I'm in the process of putting them into a spreadsheet and alphabetizing by poster's name... as soon as I can figure out a good way to format it on here I'll post the list. :)

You don't have to outrun the dragon. You just have to outrun the dwarf.

I have no idea who started that one but it's still my favourite.

From one of the first threads addressing the 3.5 Paladin "poke-mount" conundrum...

Bran Blackbyrd said:
Operator: This is Order of All That Is Lawful and Good tech support. How may I help you?

Paladin: I accidently summoned my giant squid mount into the middle of a desert! I think he's dying!

Operator: ...

Paladin: He landed on the blackguard so we won the fight, but the wizard thinks that since Percy is on land he's being crushed under his own weight or something.

Operator: Percy? Sigh... He'll probably die from dehydration or suffocation first.

Paladin: Percy, Noooooooo! Umm dehuffodration what?

Operator: Ask the wizard.

Paladin: Noooooooo! So can I unsummon him or is he here for a certain amount of time? Will he just 'port away into the ether or is he going to have to drag his mass over the horizon in some gallant fashion.

Operator: ...
I'll have to transfer you to our aquatic mounts operator, please hold.

Paladin: Noooooooo! Percy!

rycanada: What forces drive history in a D&D world?
Shroomy: The need for ruins or tombs full of treasure in the present day.

"The Soul of D&D? It's rolling a natural 20 when you're down to 3 hit points and the cleric's on the floor and you're staring that sunnavabitch bugbear right in his bloodshot eye and holding the line just long enough to let the wizard unleash a fireball at the guards who are on their way, because they're all that stands between you, the Foozle and Glory." - WizarDru

"A good DM knows People. He knows the rules. He (or she) is really good at manipulating the situation in a way he desires, yet the players thinking it was their idea. Sort of like Emperor Palpatine." -- Vraille Darkfang
