A closed thread in General.

I know it's not appropriate normally to dispute a thread closing in public, but I don't know how to find Henry's email address, and I will try really hard not to be mean. I just think that the thread on comparing Somalia to some depictions of D&D governments was rather intriguing, an idea I hadn't seen expressed before on these boards. About the only thing that was a little 'touchy' might have been the ~sorta~ claim that libertarians are anarchists, and that's only because the word anarchist tends to have a more negative connotation than its definition warrants.

I understand the desire to avoid a political debate, but I just didn't see one brewing. I saw an interesting discussion of the tropes of fantasy RPG societies brewing, and I wish the brewery hadn't been closed.

Respectfully,

I know, the lack of e-mail addresses makes things a little difficult but...

Don't you have access to the PM system on this board?

Well, I can see why the thread was closed.

Yes there was some interesting D&D discussion going on.

But a thread like that can get nasty real fast. And while it basically was attempting to discuss D&D, it touched on some stuff that's pretty clearly out of bounds according to EN World's rules. IMHO.

I don't have access to PM or email so I'm kind of in the dark on that thread too. I'm looking in the FAQ on the board usage and I'm having trouble finding what's "out of bounds." (part of that is it's 1pm EST so it's slow-time and it takes forever to search through it)

Could you enlighten this puzzled user? I'd have understood if the thread would have gotten mean but in this case everyone seemed to be adults....
