I mentioned the record holder for shortest adult previously in this thread.  So humans in D&D should certainly have a very wide range of possible scores in a wide number of abilities.No matter how much practice they have or time they put in, the vast vast majority of real life humans aren't physically capable of being particularly competitive in a collegiate 100m run, marathon, weightlifting, or gymnastics in the US, let alone an Olympic title or world record.  But luckily D&D isn't a sports simulation game.So, have the art in the game show the person (of whatever species) who doesn't look stereotypically strong beating a Goliath in arm wrestling (or whatnot) and put the D&D setting firmly in the readers head from the start.</blockquote>
