1. Is the Eldritch Blast subject to spell failure from wearing armor?
2. Would the Invocation such as "Hideous Blow" cause an Attack of Opportunity if used in a threatened hex?

1. Is the Eldritch Blast subject to spell failure from wearing armor?
2. Would the Invocation such as "Hideous Blow" cause an Attack of Opportunity if used in a threatened hex?
1. Yes, but only in armor heavier than light.
2. Yes, but only the casting not the useage of it. You can cast Hideoud Blow defensively so as not to lose it. Which is easy by higher levels, but a little harder at earlier.
1. Not in Light armor. Yes in Medium or Heavy armors. Possibly look into the Battlecaster feat (would remove spell failure for Medium armor, letting you sport some pimpin Mithril Fullplate).
2. Yes, so using a reach weapon is a good idea, IMO. Longspear, or spend a feat (whip is kinda cool).
