Why does one add their Charisma bonus to their wealth? This seems a little weird. Also Sorcerers under the system will no doubt be more wealthy than other characters.

Charisma goes to wealth because charming characters in fiction tend to acquire money very easily, and more often have more money (deserved or not) than others.

Assuming that the sorcery in whatever magic system you plug in is Charisma-based, yes, that would mean sorcerers would tend to have a little extra cash at the start of game.

Yeah. I have never heard of a perfect d20 system.

It's perfect for me.

Hence, the Title "Levi Kornelsen's Perfect 20", and the note in the Open Content declaration stating that other authors are encouraged to use the same title for their own systems, replacing my name with theirs.

I rather like that. One problem with Charisma in other d20-based systems is that it doesn't do enough for most characters to be worth putting points into - thus it's reference as a 'dump stat'. However, if that caused your initial equipment to be lower, or modified your wealth in other ways...

Hm.

I like it. And so, Sorcerers get higher wealth? It makes up for them not getting all those 'free' skill points the Wizards get. :)

Uhm... the system right now doesn't have classes or magic. No classes, because everyone builds their own, and no magic, because I want to build several different magic systems, and people can plug in the one they want.

Still, I would think that CHA-based arcane-style magic will likely get called "Sorcery", and INT-based arcane-style magic will be called "Wizardry", in at least one of those 'plug-ins'.

I was previously working on a d20 Lite (a project that Butch Curry of Gaming Report has taken over), and like what you have here. That said, I'm more interested in that file you have in your .sig. Could you please drop me an email at jdrakeh[at]softhome[dot]net if you get some free time? Thanks!

Email sent.

Yep, plently of people seem to be building things along the lines of "a cleaned up, siplified, and playable OGL" these days. I like the trend; as time goes on, we'll see more and more such items, and d20 will start to really become a universal engine.

Look at Spycraft 2.0 sometime.

Charisma is a little more important than Str and about tied with Dex & Con.

This is because:

A. The game isn't just about combat and there are plenty of non-combat options/feats/abilities which would use Cha.

B. Cha bonus influences contacts Wealth & the amount of gear you get ahold of on a mission.

C. With combat a little less important, Cha is more useful. Also Str is less useful (though not useless) due to firearms. Though Str does play a part in those as well.

I don't like Wizards using Int, it's too much of a bonus on top of their spells. I'm toying with requiring that spells all require Cha. Wether it's making you more attractive to your god or force of presence to bend reality to your will.
