That makes it compounded and complex but still linear where on average y = (x * ((d+1)/2) + x * ((c + (x/8) + ((s*4)/2)))) [where y = HP, x = level, d = HD, c = con bonus, and s = number of size categories above medium]. At no point in this do we include an exponent that would create a distinct parabolic curve demonstrating dramatic increases between one increment and another.
It is possible to weight a large number of factors at once to make a jump appear exponential, such as comparing a 1st level elven (c-1) cleric (d = 8) to a 15 HD (c+1) huge (s+2) giant (d = 8) or a 18 HD (c+2) gargantuan (s+3) dragon (d = 12), but that doesn't mean that it is.
Exponential would be 2 > 4 > 8 > 16 > 32 > 64 > 128 > 256
Reality is 5 > 11 > 16 > 23 > 29 > 36 > 39
Linear spell damage + linear HP says no imbalance (based on that at least).
