A Eulogy for 3e

I see it more as a Microsoft revision myself: ironing out the old bugs, introducing NEW bugs, and making anyone who wants a "fix" pay a buttload for the privilege.

But then, Hasbro's always been closer to Microsoft's league than WotC's. Can't say I'm surprised. Wildly disappointed, more than a little angry, but not surprised.

I'm sorry. I just don't buy the "facelift" spiel. I can't even bring myself to believe my local game store owner when he says he's psyched about 3.5 and I would normally trust him implicitly. It hurts to think he's just aiming for my wallet this time around but I honestly feel that's all it is.

Well that sucks, man.
I know for a fact everyone is hyped around here as when we're playing RPGA's Living Greyhawk at the store many people say things like, "Man, I wish this was 3.5 rules because I could..."

I also know that many of the RPGA folks are looking forward to the Forgotten Realms Green Regent setting that is to debut at Gencon with 3.5 rules from the beginning.

I think way too many people have spin doctored 3.5 into sounding like it's some kind of manipulation of the market and that's it. There are some legitimate changes that needed to be made and while I think more could have been done, I still think 3.5 needed to happen.

I know I'm still looking forward to playing even with all the other crap I've had to deal with upon it's release!

Sorry, Thorntangle, they're telling you she's dead because they don't have the guts to tell you about life. Truth is, 3.0 was a slut that ran off with every cute new prestige class that walked into town and gave her 5 caster levels.

In fact, she's probably out partying with some spell slinging, double monkey-gripped son of a devil dog with a maximized bulge in his BAB right now.
