I would suspect the reason for any perceived Far Realms supremacy is that familiarity has bred contempt for our dear friends in the Nine Hells and the Infinite Abyss. We know, intimately, their sordid histories of petty alliances and betrayals. Malcanthet and Graz'zt. Asmodeus locking Levistus in the icebox and turning Baalzebul into a giant slug. Our friends play tiefling rogues and succubus paladins. An average wizard has an imp familiar and dates an erinyes. S'why I like the yugoloths, myself, I know less about them.Tequila Sunrise said:Honestly, how is a DM supposed to explain that a realm is more evil than the realms where murderers, rapists, genocidal maniacs and politicians go when they die? No, really, I'd love to hear the explanation!
Conversely, the things from the Far Realms are crustacean/mollusc/insect mash-ups that probably reproduce by fungal budding, don't have internal politics, and would eat you as soon as even think about your soul. I believe Paradox42's Paladin may be a new thing under the sun. Yoinkable, indeed.
