We played some time with fireball 30 ft radius but losing 1d6 of damage for every 5ft from the center.

Then hand out a lot of fireball wands and necklaces of fireballs by halving the costs for these items... and enjoy the artillery warfare in huge battles with hundreds of mooks :cool:
