A few questions about Adamantite

If I remember Wolverine's claws were plain metallic looking in X-Men (it's adamantium, not adamantite, I know).

Heck, they're not even adamantine.

The Drow of the Underdark by Ed Greenwood (AD&D 2ed) describes it with as 'a dark, flexible metal'.

I have always had the impression it was antraciet ... sort of halfway between black and gray.

The purple appearance (in BG2) comes from the Drow/Underdark ambient radiation (and the grumbly effect). At least the justification for it being purple. Typically, I'd go with just the steel appearance, possibly with a black tint.

True, LN (the rule lawyer's standard alignment) makes no mention of "fair".
