A game for WH40K

I'm currently running the Haarlock Legacy campaign adapting and homebrewing it to Imperium Maledictum.

Part of my campaing consists in a parallel story with a diferent party of PC that I'm runing with Wrath & Glory. It works really well because the adventures with IM are more "investigative" while the ones with W&G are more epic/combat oriented.

Now, one of the upcoming episodes is a trip through time and space, kind of "oniric" trip through warp that jumps to different scenes/time-plot-points. I want the players to get the feeling of time-travel to be distict of the other two kind of adventures, but also rooted in the WH40K setting.

So, my question is, what system/game can I use to get to time-travel feeling but still WH40K-ish adapting the existing characters.

Side note: I have already discarted Dark Heresy because I don't really like it (a me thing) and is too similiar to IM.

Games that I have taken into account but not quite convinced: Rifts, GURPS, Genesys Twilight Imperium.

Thanks for your help, any comments would be very appreciated.

We’ve run 40K in both GURPS (before there was an official 40k RPG) and more recently in Savage Worlds. Both worked really well for us. The newest Sci-Fi companion for SWADE has a number of sub systems and arcane backgrounds which would be very handy for implementing bits of 40k.

The system being genre flexible means you could lean into more fantasy elements while in the warp, if that is your intention?

I would use Level Up's Voidrunner's Codex sci-fi supplement as a base. In fact I've already completed a number of conversion of 40k gear, vehicles, and Star locks to that system.

I'm a bit confused here. Are you saying you have the both the Wrath & Glory and Imperium Maledictum CRBs?

I ask, because one of my groups just bought me the Imperium Maledictum CRB and Macharian Requisition Guide. I'm really liking IM (IMO one of the better implementations of d100 yet) and I'd definitely use it for any adventure originally written for FFG's Dark Heresy.

Wow! Sounds good, but we just finished a Pathfinder campaign and we have our D20 quota filled. Is it any good? (any better than Starfinder?)

Yes, I have W&G and Imperium Maledictum Core Rule Book. The main campaign storyline is played with IM adapting the Haarlock Legacy campaign from Dark Heresy. But there are some side adventures we play with W&G. PC Patron is a Rogue Trader, so when they are travelling through destinations in the warp, I stated that PC consciousness travels to the W&G party, so PC from IM know what they discover in the W&G adventures.
Agreed. I love IM, and I'd would say that its d100 implementation is even better than WHFRP, and Dark Herersy for sure.

SWADE cifi is tempting indeed. Thanks.

I don't know how long you've been a 40k fan, but back, back in the day they had more of a crossover with Warhammer Fantasy Battle (Specifically the Siege book for RT) where there were literally medieval worlds with maybe a few pieces of tech that were holy ancient relics. If you go that route, maybe look at WFRP4e.

Otherwise you might want to take a look at the Fading Suns RPG, which has a bit of the 40k feel. Ulisses currently has the license:
Fading Suns But personally I like the original stuff from Holistic Design more (gives me a bit grittier feel with the B&W artwork). There was also a D20 adaption back in the day, but as you're D20 quota has already been met, that does not seem like the best option...

I'm quite new to the WH40k setting. I didn't know about that WHF crossover.

Cool, Fading Suns is a great idea. In fact I have adapted an adventure for my campaign. I have both editions. Thanks.
