A Hope For the Encounter Generator.

Here's something I hope the encounter/character generator has...

A list of questions that describe aspects of the game that match those questions. Or even a list of archetypes that you select from and it gives you options that sort of mimic those traits.

So you might start off with the basics: Is this character a major villain, or a lackey, what character class, etc...

But then gt down into things like: Is your villain corrupted by devils? Then if I click yes, give me a list of feats and spells, and powers, and magic items that offer those traits or play into that idea...

Does that make sense?

I want generators for everything: encounters, towns, organizations, NPC's, .. you name it. If Jamis Buck doesn't get back in the game, I hope someone else does (or WotC provides). I'd pay for it too.

I can come up with some cool story elements and plotlines (that's fun), but detailing all four of the temples in the local city, then the thieve's guild, then the dueling wizard academies .. it gets tiresome and feels like homework.

I like a very free form game, where my PC's can wonder over yon hill, but I can get stuck sometimes if I've given no thought to what lies there. I'd love to be able to push buttons and seed said sandy gulley with randomly generated _everything_.

Too specific. Just specify that he's an infernal warlock. Generators can't infer intent; but they can follow the NPC guidelines in the DMG based on class, race and level.
