I'm looking for honest feedback of any disposition . . .
I'm thinking that the savant learns class features way too quickly, and the rate needs tuned down to 1/3lvls or something.
Savant
Savants are people who can focus intensely on one aspect and overlook the whole. Savants are often Neutral. Savants learn little bits of everything, mastering their part, but never really expanding on what they’ve learned.
Hit Die: d8
Class Skills
The savant’s class skills (and the key ability modifier for each) are Craft (Int), Knowledge (Int), Profession (Wis), and a number of skills that can be used untrained equal to the savant’s Intelligence bonus (if any).
Skill Points at Each Level: 2 + Int modifier.
Class Features
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Savants are proficient with all simple weapons and with light armor.
Saves: Because the savant is so generalized, her base saves are dependant upon her highest ability score at first level. If her highest ability score is Strength or Constitution, then her only good save is Fortitude. If her highest ability score is Dexterity or Intelligence, then her only good save is Reflex. If her highest ability score is Wisdom or Charisma, then her only good save is Will. The base save progression may not later be altered, with the exception, perhaps, of a suitably worded wish spell.
Learn Class Feature: At the indicated levels, a savant permanently gains one class feature of another class. A savant may not select a class feature that only grants one or more feats for this feature. For example, a savant may not choose the fighter’s ‘Bonus Feats’ class feature because it grants only feats, but may choose the monk’s ‘Unarmed Strike’ class feature because it expands the character’s abilities beyond the feat the class feature grants. Use common sense when selecting class features; for example, a paladin my refuse to teach a savant unless she is a non-chaotic good. A savant may not choose the same class feature more than once.
The savant uses class features as they are described in the Class Features section of a class description, and not as they appear on that class’s table. So, a 10th level savant could rage the same number of times a day as a 10th level barbarian and could also have the same favored enemies as a 10th level ranger. In order to learn a class feature, the character must have as many savant levels as the level required for the use of a class feature. So, a savant may choose the barbarian’s rage at first level, but cannot gain ‘Greater Rage’ until they are at least 11th level.
If the class feature is the ability to cast spells, then she gains the spell list of the class she learned this feature from. The savant may cast one spell of each level (plus any bonus spells from a high ability score) as if he were a spellcaster of that class equal to his savant level. So, if a savant chooses the ability to cast wizard spells as her 3rd level class feature, then the highest level spell she can cast is 2nd level (like a 3rd level wizard), but he can only cast one spell per level. When she reaches 5th level, she gains a 3rd level spell slot (like a 5th level wizard), but is still limited to one spell per level (plus any bonus spell from a high ability score). A savant does not gain bonus domain spells, bonus spells from a specialized school, nor can a savant spontaneously cast “cure”, “inflict”, or summoning spells as clerics or druids do.
Skill Training (Ex): At the indicated levels, the savant may add one skill that cannot be used untrained to her class skills list and begin to buy ranks in it normally.
Bonus Feat (Ex): At the indicated levels, the savant gains one bonus feat that she meets the prerequisites for.
Skill Mastery (Ex): The savant becomes so certain in the use of certain skills that she can use them reliably even under adverse conditions. She selects a number of skills equal to 3 + her Intelligence modifier. When making a skill check with one of these skills, she may take 10, even if stress and distractions would normally prevent her from doing so.
Improved Skill Mastery (Ex): The savant’s certainty with certain skills improves at 20th level. She selects up to three skills with which she has Skill Mastery. When making a skill check with one of these skills, she may take 20, even if stress and distractions would normally prevent her from doing so.
sorry I haven't learned the code thing that preserves the table
