The thrown sword looks very much like it got Dunk in the femoral vein/artery. It was right to the center mass of the thigh, from what I recall.Realistically, it depends on where you take the stab wound.

Entertaining. Basically, everyone's dead:
The reverse hander does more than the sword. That didn't even necessarily stick in him it seemed, but was caught up in the mail. The thrown sword looks very much like it got Dunk in the femoral vein/artery. It was right to the center mass of the thigh, from what I recall.
Yeah, and someone who would say that of a person that was wearing armor and the sword was thrown without examining the patient isn't a medical doctor I'd want working on me, if we're taking it as more than entertainment.I'm going to lean towards the medical doctor's opinion on lethality, and his immediate reaction was "right in the femoral artery - dead in 30 seconds."
Also, when watching it, I was entertained, but also constantly thinking, "yup, that's not survivable." It was action show violence, which usually turns things up to 11. Doesn't make the episode any less fun; if anything, the doctor's reactions enhance it for me. Plus, in this setting we can always say a character survived because magic/will of the gods. Even the maester looking at Dunk's infection was like, "this guy's done for." I love this series, and the extreme violence is fine with me! (Could do with less pooping, tho).
So I tried to get into this show the other day, as someone who at least still acknowledges the quality of seasons 1-4 of Game of Thrones.
I do not understand the appeal. At all. I dropped it 15 minutes into the first episode and I do not intend to go back.
Did you watch the video? Because you’re misdescribing it.Yeah, and someone who would say that of a person that was wearing armor and the sword was thrown without examining the patient isn't a medical doctor I'd want working on me, if we're taking it as more than entertainment.
