Conceivably, if Gandalf were there then Gimli and Legolas would feel comfortable enough to go with Aragorn. But perhaps Legolas would go into Mordor as well.Aragorn brings the sword that was broken to Minas Tirith with Boromir, who supports him as the answer to the prophecy (isildur's bane shall waken, yada yada) yet Denethor doesn't want to yield. Where the situation goes from here who knows?</blockquote>
