A moment of Silence...

If there is a dog heaven, it's filled with squirrels to chase, nice meaty bones to chew, and people who only stop throwing frisbees long enough to scratch doggie bellies.
That's one of the better things I've heard.
Beautiful.

Lyrics, "All Good Things", Klaatu (1983)

I never had a closer friend than you
I never had such good times as the ones we used to have together
You're the one I told my problems to
Throughout the years remained true blue
No I never had a closer friend than you

But all good things must end
No use trying to pretend it isn't so
When it's time you gotta go
But I never had a better friend than you

I know it sounds a trifle odd
To those who've never had a dog
But I never had a closer friend than you

But all good things must end
No use crying for the dead and that's a fact
All my tears won't bring you back
But I never had a better friend than you
No I'll never have a better friend than you

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember well the day I took my 16 year old dog Simsa for her last ride we stopped and got her fries from McDonalds. Animals are lucky they live in the here and now they do not fear death the way humans do.

Over the years I have many pets that I loved and I would not trade any of the pain at losing them because the good memeories stay with you far longer than the pain.

I lost my dog about 3 months ago, and there are still days when I cry. There isn't a day that I come home from work and don't expect Buddy to be there to greet me.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Just remember that a part of your pet, your friend, will always be with you.

I agree on the memories, man;
I just wish the dog hadn't been so happy-looking about it, when my father pulled out the leash she got up all excited, looked like she didn't even realize that she was going off to die, happy, tail wagging...

Actually, I think that is how I'd prefer to remember her. :)

It's better he dies cheery though, rather then scared. Sorry about the dog :(
